Software Support
Deployment
We work with each Campus Life department to make sure its software needs are met. We work closely with UTS Software Distribution department to provide Emory’s site-licensed and custom software at no cost.
Updates
After initial deployment, we update current software using Microsoft tools that keep security patches in place. Via our inventory system, we monitor existing software and provide analysis services to departments when upgrades or enhancements would make sense. We also monitor third party providers for updates and upgrades, which we install for departments on a regular basis.
Monitoring
Our monitoring server looks at each workstation throughout the day for any unusual activity and reports back to us with valuable information that could point out virus activity, software “instability” and even hardware failures. We proactively look through these notices and modify system services to provide a more stable environment.
Self Install
We package popular software and make it available to all divisional staff in case there is a desire to perform a quick install. Software like Adobe Flash Player, Apple iTunes, FirstClass LearnLink Client, Mozilla Firefox and Skype are available for an almost instant install for all staff users. This is an ever-growing list.
